“MONA N6″ is a custom GUI for U-he Tyrell Nexus 6. it is a spin-off work of “MONA“, a commercial GUI originally created for Diva. By sharing some resources with MONA, it became possible to provide premium-quality design for free!

“Massive Modulation” System v2

MONA N6 has the new modulation system like NI Massive synth. The system is the same as the one in MONA.

  • Click : Set the mod source (if unset)
  • Drag the text area : Control mod depth
  • Right click: Change the mod source
  • Click icons : Change the mod source
  • Mod amount is shown as a ring.

Just have a try and you’ll see. It’s really simple and fit to your hand!

Some Nice Things

MONA N6 has some extra items not included in the original skin.

  • Undo/Redo buttons
  • MIDI/CPU meter
  • Output volume meter
  • Glide mode (time/rate) switch
  • Unipolar toggles for LFOs

These are the elements that TN6 already has internally, just not equipped on the original GUI.

For Preset Designers

Beware that the glide mode menu and unipolar toggle are hardly accessible for normal users using other skins (it can barely be edited through automation systems in some DAWs such as Logic Pro). If you use these features without notification, users might get confused by their behaviors.

Installation

Install Skin Files

Mac OSX

  • 1.Go to “Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/u-he/Themes”
    and drop the theme folder. (Note that it’s not your USER’s LIBRARY folder.)
  • 2. Open Tyrell N6.
  • 3. Right click somewhere
  • 4. Choose “MONA N6”.
  • 5. Right click again, and choose “make default”. Now the theme is set as default.

Windows

  • 1. Find your TN6 folder. it may be on “C:VSTPlugins:u-he:TyrellN6.data”
  • 2. Then move to “Support:Themes” and drop the theme folder there. If there’s no such folder, then create on your own.
  • 3. Open TyrellN6.
  • 4. Right click somewhere
  • 5. Choose “MONA N6”.
  • 6. Right click again, and choose “make default”. Now the theme is set as default.

Install Custom Fonts

MONA uses custom fonts to create different taste than the original one. To make it work, you have to put fonts to the right folder. (Without font installation, the default font is used instead.)

Mac OSX

  • Go to “Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/u-he/TyrellN6/Fonts”
    and drop the font folder (the folder named “Inter”).
    ⚠︎It’s the system library, not your user library!

Windows

  • 1. Find your TN6 folder. By default it is on “C:VSTPlugins:u-he:TyrellN6.data”
  • 2. Move to “Data:Fonts” and drop the font folder (the folder named “Inter”).

Compatibility

  • Tested on TN6 v3.0, on Intel Mac OS 13.6.
  • The one for the 2025 beta is also included, BUT you may not be able to set it to the default skin due to the incompleteness of beta.
  • Made for Retina Displays with 100% zoom.
