Description
The Way It Should Be.
is a custom GUI for u-he Presswerk, designed to greatly improve its ease of use and versatility.
Key Features
- 1260 x 700px modern GUI size
- Realistic Hardware Look
- Always Accessible to All Parameters
- Optimal Placement of UI Elements
- Force Swap (change views without initialization)
- Selectable Background Images
Anything Needed, Yours Always.
In the default skin, you have to say goodbye to the special views just to tweak a few extra parameters. How tragic is that!
With ANYA, you can access all parameters even in the special views.
At the same time, I haven’t forgotten the “Less is More” philosophy that Presswerk originally aimed for. The main parameters are consolidated into a rack-style hardware unit, while all the extra parameters are literally tucked “under the desk” in a modest flat design!
PLUGMON has always understood and practiced the idea that blending skeuomorphism with flat design dramatically enhances the expressive power of UI. This can be seen as yet another manifestation of that vision.
Even the Void is Yours.
Some people might find it hard to focus when too many parameters are displayed. ANYA addresses that need too! You can toggle the display of minor parameters on and off using the drawer toggle button in the bottom-right corner.
Taking into account the increased blank space, it also comes with a background image selection feature. Anything needed is always yours!
Force Swap : The Forbidden Fruit
The home button in the default GUI is a “one-way street.” Once you return home, you are forced to reset the parameters to go back to the special views.
While this is necessary for the special view to function properly, is it really a sin to want to return without resetting everything?
—I don’t think so. Everyone has their own circumstances. And giving users control and freedom is an essential principle of GUI design.
Hence, force swap. It allows you to change the view without resetting the parameters. This is a forbidden feature, recommended only for advanced users who understand the inner workings of Presswerk.
Goodbye Symmetry, Hello Efficiency
Symmetry may indeed be “visually” beautiful, but when it comes to workflow efficiency, it rarely provides the optimal solution. What ANYA loves is logical “functional beauty.” The clear expression of parameter hierarchy, the awareness of an L to R flow, and above all, concentrating the six key parameters of the compressor in one place. That is, Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Input, and Output.
